About Us

Developed by Spiritwind Christian Centre 2004.

Noah’s Ark Childcare came about as a result of the staff at the Guelph Food Bank seeing a need in our community through budget counselling and seeing a need in the community after conducting an assistance survey of the clients and need for budget counselling. Many people could return to work to a full-time position in the work force if they could find quality childcare. The shortage of placement spaces for quality care and the long waiting list for availability prompted us to meet a need.

Care at Noah’s Ark Childcare (NAC) is provided by qualified RECE full-time staff and support staff NAC provides care for 137 registered children. We have spots for 20 Infants, 45 Toddlers, 72 Preschoolers in 8 rooms with fun filled activities.

The centre is bright, clean, and cheerful and is decorated to stimulate young minds and help children to learn.

Our Philosophy

Noah’s Ark Childcare provides children with a safe friendly environment. The Centre is a place for children to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually through a number of developmental activities.

Our programming is designed to let children make choices, take responsibility, and learn how to make decisions that will further enhance their self-growth and self-worth.

Activities are designed to encourage creativity, foster socialization, and increase physical development. These activities consist of music, dramatic play, arts and crafts, cooking, sensory experience, and outdoor play.

The staff are responsible to support each individual child and his/her family. Ongoing and open communication allows a child to recognize boundaries and learn limitations with consistency between the Childcare Centre, home environment, and the surrounding community.

Preparing a child for his/her future involvement in the school system is important. The child will be challenged intellectually, preparing him/her for entry into the school system.

Mission

We pride ourselves in offering the highest standard of childcare by providing a safe and loving environment for your children, delivering quality learning activities for all stages of development, and by serving health-unit approved meals to keep your children happy and healthy.

Our mission is to foster children’s creativity and enhance learning in a developmentally appropriate and resource rich play-based emergent environment, preparing them for their next stage of learning as they enter school.

Why Choose Us

We offer a welcoming and enriched learning atmosphere by providing a caring, warm and safe environment for children to enjoy developmentally appropriate play experiences.

Small children take comfort in our nurturing atmosphere. Parents feel more secure knowing security measures are in place and enforced every day.

We have a keyless entry system and all doors are alarmed to sound when opening and closing. Parents must sign the child in and out each day.

Plans are in place for dealing with emergencies. All staff and volunteers must have current police check prior to working with the children.

Secure and Safe

We have a keyless entry system and all doors are alarmed to sound when opening and closing. Parents must sign the child in and out each day.

Small children take comfort in our nurturing atmosphere. Parents feel more secure knowing security measures are in place and enforced every day.

Clean

Even very small children wash their hands before eating, after using the bathroom, and after play. Teachers routinely sanitize toys and furniture between uses.

We are always careful to wear gloves when changing children. We can’t be too careful where young children are concerned.

A Warm and Happy Place

Noah’s Ark Childcare is full of friends. Every day, children count on smiles and hugs from teachers and volunteers. Children love spending time with their peers.

Dramatic play, group games, stacking blocks, and singing songs all give small children a chance to talk, share, giggle, and learn together.

Fun and Learning

Learning is fun all day long. When children think they’re playing, they’re actually developing and learning skills that help prepare them for school.

Our experienced RECE teachers and staff know that young children learn by doing. Directed play is one of the best ways to help them learn. We make sure there’s a big dose of fun in every hands-on learning experience.

Growth

We know that helping children grow means paying attention to all aspects of their development.

Our caring teachers work every day to help little people grow and develop cognitively, physically, and socially, all of which are important aspects of early learning.

Nourishment

We know that a child’s day will go more smoothly when he or she has delicious, nutritious food, fresh air to play in, and plenty of opportunity to express themselves.

Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared by our cook onsite everyday.

People Come First

We built Noah’s Ark Childcare on the commitment and devotion of our people. Fully trained RECE teachers help to assure a warm, secure, and caring professional service for your child.

Communication

Frequent communication between you and your child’s teacher is essential. We guarantee regular reports, both verbal and written. These reports are given every day for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Flexibility

Parents are busy people, so we do our best to make it easy for you. Our hours of care are from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
